Karate is Ace! I've being doing Wado Ryu style Karate for nearly two years now.
I am a Blue belt 5th kyu and hope one day to get my black belt 1st Dan ( my dad says
that he'll give me £100 when i do!)
I train with Kentai Karate club, you can find their website here.
This picture is me and my friend Jake, who is also a 5th kyu.
This is me and doing a 'takedown' on Jake.
It's a cool move where you step past your apponent and drop them to the floor!
You can also catch their leg and 'sweep' them so they hit the deck!
These are my instructors, Amy (1st Dan) Terry (3rd Dan) and Mick (3rd Dan).
Our chief instructor John Little has 5 clubs all arond the north west so sometimes doesn't
come to our classes.
My brother Adam is in the photo, he is a green belt 6th kyu, but he doesn't really do Karate any more
because he now plays for Heysham Blue Star football team.
This picture is of me and some of my friends at a competition last year. i am holding the first trophy
that i ever won. I came third place and i was well chuffed.
It's quite tough fighting in competitions, i get a bit nervous but once i start fighting i realise that
my apponent is just as nervous as me!
I have been hurt a few times, i once got kicked in the ribs and the first aider thought i'd broken them
so he stopped the fight. I was winning at the time and there was only 2 seconds left on the clock, so i was
a bit annoyed, but safety has to come first and i understood afterwards.
This is me at the FEKO national championships in Wolverhampton this year.
I came 3rd! and my Dad was very proud.
The other boy in the picture came second, the boy who won was in the
first aid room because he got hurt in the final ( i'm glad it wasn't me!)
